Projects & Developments

We are committed to building relationships with the local community and businesses so as to enhance the element of socio-economic factors.

Any projects and developments we have undertaken, or are in the process of undertaking, are designed to create value for the mutual betterment of both The Shelleys and the local community.

2007

  • Refurbishment of 6 bedrooms, the Dining Room, Lounge, Ante Room and the Drawing Room.
  • Demolition of derelict Garages and Store, in order to increase car park capacity.

2008

  • Repaving of the Terrace and the restoration of ground floor windows along the Terrace. The Terrace was dressed with pots of fuscia, pelargonium and lavender, and beds of lilies and roses were planted to flower in the summer of 2009.
  • Refurbishment of the Bar, Hall, Staircase and Dome, and the re-upholstering of Lounge sofas.
  • Fell Trees at the back of the hotel to open up 1200 square meters of ground for re-development.

            Renovating ground floor windows

2009

  • A further 4 bedrooms have been refurbished.
  • The entire exterior of the hotel has been re-painted and the tattered wooden signage has been replaced by slate.
  • Much progress has been made with re-landscaping the Gardens, and with the aid of a reputable landscape garden designer, we have replanted the Garden with a large variety of plants, shrubs and trees. (Plans of the proposed garden).
  • A 'Recluse' has been built at the bottom of the garden, fitted with hand-carved wooden furniture and a bird feeder, allowing guests to make the most of the natural surroundings.

2010

  • We propose to complete the landscaping of the garden, which includes the development of 2 adjoining ponds, along with a separate water fountain.
  • We propose to obtain planning permission for the development of an Executive Suite.
